Thank you for your interest in the Webster BlueFins Trial Swim Program! This page will be updated as details are finalized.

Procedural details and required documents, along with a virtual meeting time to introduce the program and answer questions, will be posted closer to the Trial start date.  Note special procedure for Day 1 - January 10 (Readiness Assessment Day)


Google Meetings

Prior to the Trial Swim program, a Google Meeting introducing parents to the BlueFins and the Trial Swim process will be held. Meeting link will be listed below and emailed before the meetings to each registered trial swim family.

Trial Swim logistics for Winter 2026:
Sessions will be held at the location that the age group practices each day.

Day 1: Saturday, January 10, 2026 - Readiness Assessment
Location: Webster Thomas High School Pool
Time:  10 AM (info will be communicated about the specific time)

  • This day will be a readiness assessment only, where the coaches will work 1:1 with swimmers to make sure they’re ready to attend the 2 week trial.
  • Swimmers will be organized into 15 minute time blocks to work 1:1 with coaches.
  • Families are asked to come 5 minutes before their time slot to check in and be ready.
  • Swimmers should come already in their swimsuits.
  • After the swimmers go in with the coaches, the families will be allowed entrance to the pool to watch.
  • Coaches will come out and talk to the parents after the check out and let them know the results. After this, the family may leave.
  • If your swimmer cannot attend the first day of the trial practice, please let us know so we can best accommodate your family in welcoming you to the trial program.
     

Day 2: Monday, January 12 and subsequent days
Location: Various pools
Time: Check the schedule below for the time and location. Note - when High School meets are held, practice may be canceled or start later depending on the school and date, so please check the schedule before coming. 

Swimmers should come to practice already in their swimsuit prepared to start swimming immediately following check-in. They should bring their belongings on deck.

  • Schedule for these two weeks is posted below.
  • BE ON TIME ... no entry if late.
  • Parents are allowed to watch from the stands.
     

General Information: 
Please note that adjustments and additional details will be posted when they are finalized. 

  • Swimmers should come dressed in a swimsuit (one piece suit is preferable), and bring goggles and towel. Those with long hair should bring a cap (if they have one) or hair tie to keep hair out of their face.
  • Arrival and check-in process will be communicated.
  • Locker Rooms will be available to use.
  • Attendance: Swimmers may attend as many days as they wish during the two week trial period based on their age group. The schedule will be listed below.
  • Questions: A BlueFins representative will be available to answer questions during the 2 week trial! Please talk to them. Ask ANY questions you have big or small.
  • End of Trial Swim Parent Meetings -- opportunity to ask questions. Time and location are shown below.
  • Ready to register: After (or during) the two week trial, a coach will confirm group placement if the family chooses to register their swimmer(s) for the BlueFins Competitive swim program.
